WHAT'S UP REAL MEN!!!
This is The Day
Good Morning! I wanted to share this morning from Psalm 118,
19 “Open to me the gates of righteousness, that I may enter through them and give thanks to the Lord. 20 This is the gate of the Lord; the righteous shall enter through it. 21 I thank you that you have answered me and have become my salvation.”
This is such a powerful passage of scripture. We see the psalmist here asking God to open to him the gates of righteousness and then declaring the gate of the Lord, and thanking God that He has answered and become “my salvation.” What begins in prayer and petition transforms into prophecy. It is a declaration of Jesus, the Christ. Jesus is the gate of righteousness. All who enter through Him become the righteousness of God through Him. Their sins are washed in His blood. They are saved through God’s gift of His son: the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross and His resurrection. The psalmist continues,
22 “The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. 23 This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes. 24 This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
God sent Jesus to the earth, but He was rejected by the Jewish religious leaders. He became the savior of not just the Jews, but to the world. He is the cornerstone of salvation. All true religion and worship of God is built around and upon Him. There is no other name by which we may be saved. It is Jesus only.
We now live in the day of salvation. Each day is a day to receive the grace and forgiveness of God that is available in Jesus. Each morning is a morning to allow God to transform us through the power of His son, Jesus. As we call upon His name, we enter righteousness, peace, joy, and every promise that goes along with salvation. Jesus is the door; He is the gate to heaven. Today, we can have hope and be thankful because we have access to the grace of God, and to His throne, through Jesus who suffered and died for us. Let’s let hope and joy revive us today, and lets approach the throne of grace through Jesus, the savior of the world!
