WHAT'S UP REAL MEN!!!

Jesus says in this life we will face trials of many kinds, man he can say that again. Life has a tendency to really beat us up at times which can be really frustrating, disappointing and that can cause us to separate ourselves from others which leads us to loneliness, and that's exactly what the enemy wants. He wants to separate us so that he can destroy us.

Scripture says, in 1 Corinthians 10, “no temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man.”

In other words, what we are going through others are going through the same types of things. There are other men being tempted by the enemy, with lust, anger, addiction, fear, anxiety, depression, doubt, insecurities, backbiting, gossiping and any other temptation you currently are experiencing or have ever experienced. YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

The scripture in 1 Corinthians 10 goes on to say, but God is FAITHFUL and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation He will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

So yes we will face trials, yes we will be tempted just like everyone else is tempted, but take heart because JESUS has overcome. Be confident because God is with you, He is for you, and He is always faithful to see you through.

You know it’s funny because people think that I never go through temptation, as if because I am a pastor the enemy respects my title. Yeah right, give me a break! I wish that was true. The enemy is no respecter of person. He is an equal opportunist, and he wants to tempt all of us in order to take all of us out. Look, I go through temptations and trials just like everyone else does. A pastor friend of mine, who had been a pastor for over 50 years told me, son we put our pants on just like every other man, 1 leg at a time. Simply letting me know your title doesn't change the temptation. And you know he was so right, but do you know what I figured out...the title may not change the temptation, but me being a son of the Most High, changes the way I go through the temptation.

SCRIPTURE READING

PHILIPPIANS 3:12-16

12 Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. 13 Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. 15 Let those of us who are mature think this way, and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal that also to you. 16 Only let us hold true to what we have attained.

See men there is a real enemy, and his name is satan, and yes he is going to send trials our way, and yes he is going to tempt us, but we are not alone. God is with us, God will never leave us nor forsake us, and even in the midst of temptation, He will provide for us a way of escape. And even if we fall into temptation, all we have to do is repent, and the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all unrighteousness, and then we can forget what lies behind us and press on toward the prize of being a son. No title is going to get you out of temptation but being a son of God will get you through any trial and every temptation. So today be confident in what Jesus has done for you, be bold under the mercy and grace of God, and realize that you are not alone. God is with you, and you have brothers in Christ going through things as well so lean on each other in prayer and encouragement. Don't allow the enemy to isolate you so that he can continue to lie to you. Let’s be there for one another, just like JESUS is there for all of us! You are not ALONE!
