WHAT'S UP REAL MEN!!!
John lays on the floor of his own home, beaten and bruised. As his eyes open he sees his new beagle, Daisy, laying in front of him in a pool of crimson. He staggers to his feet, taking in the scene. He makes his way to the garage to find that his 1969 Mustang GT is taken.
John is a fairly calm person. But these guys have taken things way too far. He just lost his wife and now his dog and car are gone. John grabs what he needs, which isn’t much, and goes on the search to let these guys know who they just messed with.
And they wished they never would have met The Boogeyman.
Although this story of John Wick is one that I and probably you (if you’ve seen it), find quite entertaining, it’s all based on revenge. But honestly almost all of the great action movies are. Why is that? Because there is one main ingredient that makes for great story. Conflict.
And if there is anything most action movies teach us, it’s that unforgiveness leads to conflict.
14 For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, 15 but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
There’s something that can make you feel conflict; not being in right standing with the Father.
I thank God every day that He has given me a forgiving spirit. It has never been something that I struggle with, but I know that there are a lot of people out there that hold grudges and struggle forgiving.
I think what makes forgiving others easier is recognizing all that God has forgiven us for. Now I’m not saying forgiveness is always easy. But I am saying forgiveness is always right.
Sure watching and reading about unforgivness can be engaging and exciting. But don’t let it be the thing that makes your life entertaining, while you and your loved ones, traverse your way through all the conflict.
