Alright Men. I want you to take a journey with me. I want to go to a place where we have devices in our pockets that can do things for us, that people decades ago never thought possible. A place where knowledge flows through the illumination of thousands of tiny lights. Where boredom is a thing of the past and productivity is at an all time high. A place where communication is instant and everyone’s life is put on those lights for everyone else to see. A place where reality is in its fakest form.

We do not have to travel very far. In fact, you are probably reading this on that very device. And on this device if you go to your home screen you may see the all to familiar white f on a blue background or the outline of a camera on vibrant warm colors. Now there is nothing inherently wrong with either of these two social platform giants. But like most things if not used correctly or used too much, they can have negative effects. The largest thing Facebook is known for is the highly sought after thumbs up. The Like. The soul reason we post things on any social media platform is so we can get the validation that our lives are meaningful.

Maybe for you it’s not social media, maybe it’s validation from a girl, friend, boss, parent, whatever it may be, if it’s not Jesus first our focus is off.

We as believers should, first and foremost, want the validation from our Father. He has given us our true identity and has sacrificed His only son to show us just how meaningful our lives are to Him.

10 For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.

11 For I would have you know, brothers, that the gospel that was preached by me is not man's gospel. 12 For I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ.

You and your life were uniquely created by the most amazing Creator. God didn’t make a mistake in creating any part of you, not one. Those things that we look too for that validation that aren’t Jesus reveal our insecurities and weaknesses. 200 likes on Facebook from people that we don’t even know holds zero weight to the comfort we can feel from one minute spent intimately with our Father. Thats reality in its truest form.  When we recognize our weaknesses and give them over to Jesus our identity, relationship and faith have the opportunity to become stronger.

Today take a deep look inside at what you turn to, to feel like a man.
