I hope you all had a great Monday!

So look fella’s over these next few months we will dive into scripture and go over certain topics that I feel the Lord has laid on my heart to see what God’s word says about these things and how God’s word tells us to deal with these certain things so that we live as Men of God. See we live in a time and a culture that is trying to blind us to what Real Men look like, act like and how they carry themselves. But scripture is very clear on how we are to live, it says in 1 Peter 1:16, “Be holy, for I am holy.” We as Real Men are told to live HOLY Lives, not “wishy washy” lives, not perverted lives, matter of fact we aren’t even told to live “moral” lives. We are told to live HOLY lives! And this Holy life can only be achieved through a relationship with Jesus Christ. And the only way we can cultivate a relationship with Jesus is by being in His word, and being obedient to it. James 1:22 says, “be doers of the word and not hearers only.” So over the next few months, we as men of God, are going to go through His Word and strive to do be doers of it, by pursuing a relationship with Jesus. Now let me encourage all of us to be praying for wisdom and strength as we accept this challenge to Holy Lives.

PROVERBS 4:20-24

20 My son, be attentive to my words;

    incline your ear to my sayings.

21 Let them not escape from your sight;

    keep them within your heart.

22 For they are life to those who find them,

    and healing to all their flesh.

23 Keep your heart with all vigilance,

    for from it flow the springs of life.

24 Put away from you crooked speech,

    and put devious talk far from you.

Something the Lord has been dealing with me on, for us as men, is how we talk.

So often I will hear men of God say, when they are confronted about how they talk, you are being legalistic. I have to be real with you, because after all we are Real Men, that is such a copout. Calling something legalistic is the Christian way of saying I want to do what I want to do and that’s that, but because as Christians we know that is not a very “Christian” thing to say, so instead we say your being legalistic shifting the blame on the one that is challenging us to have conversations that are edifying to the body of Christ. The reality is God’s word tells us over and over again to talk the way Jesus would talk.

Ephesians 4:29 says

Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up

Colossians 4:6 says

Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.

Psalms 19:14

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.

Jesus says in Matthew 15

"What goes into someone's mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them."

So with all that being said, to challenge each other on the way we speak is not legalism. We as Real Men should speak the way scripture tells us to speak. People should know we are Christ followers by the way we speak. If the scriptures were written today it would tell us that things we post on social media should also reflect Jesus. The fact of the matter is, when we speak or post, we are either witnessing for Christ or we are discounting our witness for Christ.

I am constantly asking myself before I open my mouth is what I am about to say going to bring glory to Jesus or not.

So let me encourage all of us before we speak or before we post, let's ask ourselves am I being a witness for JESUS or not.

Men of God you have been created before the foundations of the world was formed to do GOOD works for the glory of Jesus! He is with you today so be like HIM!!!

Have a great day!!!!!!!!
